On a failed save, a creature takes 3d8 piercing damage and is restrained. On a successful save, a creature takes half damage and isn’t restrained. At the beginning of your next turn, any creature restrained by this spell takes 5d8 necrotic damage and the spell ends.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the necrotic damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 4th.
