You can see a location within 1 kilometer of the Phylactery of the Lich whose body fragment you used as a component for the spell. It must be on the same plane of existence as you. If the Lich is corporeal it is allowed a saving throw to resist the spell. If the Lich has been destroyed and it is in the process of re-forming, it automatically fails this saving throw.
If the Lich is allowed a save, it is with a -10 adjustment. On a successful save, the target isn't affected, and you can't use this spell against it again for 24 hours.
On a failed save, the spell creates an invisible sensor within 1 kilometer of the target in a random location. You can see through the sensor as if you were there. The sensor is immobile but can be rotated fully in all directions. A creature that can see invisible objects sees the sensor as a luminous orb about the size of your fist.
