Ca-CAWphony of Sorrows

When a creature within 30 feet of you dies, you can use your reaction to target another creature within 30 feet of you.

The soul of your newly deceased foe assumes the shape of a murder of crows and takes flight, assaulting the target in a symphony of feathers and deafening caws. The target must make a WIS saving throw, on a failed save, the target takes 2d8 psychic damage and the target is deafened until your next turn. On a successful save, target takes half damage and is not deafened.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for every two slot levels above 1st.
