You touch a willing creature wearing a Chiropteran Apparatus, and infuse both with a shared arcane energy. The target gains a flying speed of 60 feet for the duration. When the spell ends, the target falls if it is still aloft, unless it can stop the fall.

The Chiropteran Apparatus required for the spell is a compact 10lb backpack containing folded set of constructed wings, similar in physiology to a large bat's. The wings are spring loaded to be folded and cannot be deployed for use without the activation of arcane energy. A Tinkerer with proper plans can construct this apparatus. Creating the apparatus is a Tinker's Tools crafting task, DC 20. The cost of creating the chassis is 60 gp in structural, mechanical, and arcane materials. 

When the spell ends, the wings may remain weakly deployed for 6 rounds as the arcane energy slowly fades within a nether crystal capacitor. During this time, only downward movement is possible in a controlled crash. Any falling damage incurred in this way is halved. In addition, the operator may attempt to avoid all falling damage with an Acrobatics check. The DC of this check is equal to the damage that might be taken (after it's halved).

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you increase the duration for 10 minutes for each slot level above 3rd.
