The Bloom Spell is an enchantment developed by the mages f the Elven court many years ago, and was commonly used by the spellcasting elves who live in the Dalelands. It's casting causes a bundle of featherlight; brilliant flowers of the mage's choice to appear before him/her. THe flowers are extremely lightweight and will catch any breeze and drift like a dandelion seed. They last only an hour, dissolving soon afterward. Each mage casting the spell chooses a particular type of flower as a signature, and may call upon the flowers on command.
NTel'Quess (non-elves) tend to view this spell as unworthy for their spellbooks, "a useless conjuration typical of Elves". The Dalelands Elves, however, use the Spell in courting, decoration, and celebrations. In one case, the sage Kindarin Shankhair escaped a dragon by tossing a large bundle of carnations in the beast's face and fled while the beast (fortunately allergic was sneezing.)
Note written by Dodger Cutpurse- While this spell is from the earliest days of the elven court 250 DR and long forgotten. I found it in hidden in an old dusty tome in Waterdeep, unusual due to the fact it comes from the ancient Elven court and the Dalelands. I think, I may be one of the only NTel'Quess of the North to possess this spell in their book. I have chosen as my signature flower, a bundle of roses. I like to mix the colors between pink, yellow, red, white, grey, blue, and black. There are times I mix all the colors except black, most times I use one solid color. I use the black ones only in rare instances.
