When you cast this spell, determine whether you want to Strike, or Volley. 

Strike. Make a ranged spell attack against one creature or object within range. On a hit dealing 4d8 Lightning damage and 4d8 Fire Damage.

Volley. Make a ranged spell attack against up to 4 creatures or objects within range. On a hit dealing 2d8 Lightning damage and 2d8 Fire Damage. 

The damage from this spell cannot be reduced in any way if the target is a Fiend, however Celestials may never be a target for this spell.
