Conjure Townsfolk

You conjure to your location up to four Commoners that appear in unoccupied spaces that you can see within range. Commoners include peasants, serfs, slaves, servants, pilgrims, merchants, artisans, hermits, and townsfolk of various professions. You can't summon a specific individual using this spell. 

The DM chooses the Commoners. You can express a preference for what type of Commoners show up, but it’s up to the DM to determine if they do. The DM will often choose ones that are appropriate for the campaign and that will be fun to introduce in a scene. The DM can also modify a Commoner's stats block by increasing or decreasing one or two ability scores and giving them proficiency in a skill or artisan's tool. 

The Commoners must be on the same plane of existence as you. Each commoner gains 4 (1d8) Temporary Hit Points when they appear. They can’t be replaced by Temporary Hit Points from another source. A conjured Commoner teleports back to its initial location when it has no more Temporary Hit Points, when the spell ends, or if it dies.

The summoned Commoners are initially Indifferent or Hostile to you and your companions. At the DM's option, some can be Frightened at first. The DM can use the Influence action to determine if the attitude of a Commoner changes over the course of the spell duration. The Commoners won't fight unless cornered, and if an element of personal risk is involved, Charisma checks will be required to convince even a Friendly commoner to take that risk. 

Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot. You can decide exactly which type of Commoners show up, and the duration is 24 hours, no Concentration required.
