You select a number of either undead creatures you have asserted your control over, or near-complete corpses within range equal to your spellcasting modifier. You then choose any other creatures withing at least 10 feet of any of your chosen corpses, having those corpses make a grapple attempt against them. Any creatures targeted makes an Acrobatics (Dexterity) or Athletics (Strength) check as if being grappled against your spell save DC. With a failed save, the target becomes grappled. They can make this check again as an action on their turn.
Undead creatures under your control who are grappling targets this way are not in control of their arms, and cannot make attacks until the grapple is broken.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, if any of your controlled undead would have the ability to attack more than once as an action on their turn while grappling, they make a single attach each turn instead until the grapple is broken.
