After you cast this spell a magical pen appears, describe or name an object (which is the Verbal component of the spell), the pen puts a green, yellow or red dot in the middle of your paper (green if the object is within 500 ft, yellow between 500-1000 ft and red above 1000 ft), the color changes, reflecting your current distance.

The map is always centered around the object, even if it moves. The map draws streets, bodies of water and the area of houses and other such buildings/points of interest within 500 ft of the object, but doesn't name them.

On the top right corner, there is a moving compass, the middle of the compass will always point in which direction you need to go. The compass can be "zoomed on" or moved around the paper.

When the spell is about to end, you may cast this spell again to extend the duration of the spell by 10 minutes. If you don't, the paper disappears.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the spell lasts for an additional 10 minutes for each slot level above 1st.
