Casting this spell costs 2 hp and deals 1d10 necrotic damage however if the spell lands on a creature that isn't undead, or a construct, you heal for 1d4 hp.
This healing effect happens for only the first blast however add +1 to it for every barb that hits a target besides the first.
You can avoid the self inflicted pain by using a corpse or another source of easy access blood within the range of the spell, as long as it has blood of some kind.
The size of the corpse will determine how many times you can use that specific corpse for a bloody barb.
Tiny-0. Small-1. Medium-2
Large-3. Huge-4. Gargantuan-5
If reduced to 0 you can no longer use that corpse as a source for blood.
The spell creates more than one barb when you reach higher levels: two at 5th level, three at 11th level, and four at 17th level. You can direct the barbs at the same target or at different ones. Make a separate attack roll for each.
