You envelop a corpse with negative energy causing it to convulse violently before exploding. Choose a corpse from a large or smaller creature that you can see within range to detonate. The size of the corpse will determine both the damage and the radius sphere of the explosion, as shown on the table below. Each creature in range of the explosion must make a Dexterity saving throw or take necrotic equal to the amount as shown on the table below. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage.

A corpse can only be targeted by this spell once, after which the corpse is destroyed and can only be restored to life by the means of true resurrection or wish spell. This spell has no effect on a corpse from constructs and undead.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the damage increases by one damage die for each slot level above 1st. Using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher grants the ability to cast the spell on a huge size corpse. Using a spell slot of 5th level or higher grants the ability to cast the spell on a gargantuan size corpse.
