You evoke a blade of pure energy in your free hand. The blade is thin, light, and comes from the palm of the hand with a few inches of space underneath. Two can be summoned at once and dual wielded, but it takes a bonus action and free hands to summon the second. It disappears with lack of concentration, ie. unconsciousness, being knocked prone, etc. But you can evoke the blade again as a bonus action.
You can use your action to make a melee spell attack with the energy blade. On a hit, the target takes 3d6 force damage.
The energy blade sheds dim, colored light of choice in a 5-foot radius.
At level 3. You can summon the second blade. If attacking with the second blade, add an additional 1d6 force damage to the damage roll.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for every two slot levels above 2nd.
