As a reaction to any attack or spell used against you, regardless of being dealt damage or suffering any negative effects, you may spit a vicious insult at the one who made it. The target must make a Constitution Saving Throw, taking 2d6 acid damage on a failure or half as much on a success. If they fail their save, they suffer an acid burn that lasts for 1 round and imposes disadvantage on all dexterity and constitution saving throws while applied. At the end of each of their turns while under the effects of the acid burn, they must make an additional Constitution save. On a failure, they take 1d6 additional acid damage. On a success, the effect ends and the acid burn is removed.
At Higher Levels. When casting this spell with a spell slot of 2nd or higher level, increase the initial damage dealt by 1d6 for each slot level above 1st. When casting this spell using a slot of 3rd level or higher, increase the duration of the acid burn by 1 round for every 2 slot levels above 1st used.
