Choose a living creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack. On a hit, the target is wracked with terrible burning pain originating from the region their heart sits. The burning sensation intensifies and spreads throughout their body as you concentrate on the spell. At the start of their turn, the target takes 7d12+20 fire damage, as their blood vessels are "set ablaze." At the end of their turn the target can attempt a Constitution saving throw to force the pain to subside and subdue the burning inside of them.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th or higher, the damage increases by 2d12 for each slot above 6th.
