You touch a humanoid corpse that has been deceased for no more than 24 hours and call forth the soul that once inhabited the body, provided the soul is both willing and at liberty to be summoned to your location. For the duration of the spell, the soul appears as a spectral, benign spirit. Once the spell ends, the soul will return to wherever you summoned it from; however, you may cast this spell again before the duration ends to extend it by another hour. If the duration is extended in this way for a total of 24 hours, the spirit will remain summoned indefinitely until they are dispelled by means of a spell such as turn undead.
The spirit cannot physically interact with objects or creatures around it, but it can still see and be seen as well as communicate, although it only speaks the languages it knew in life. If the spirit knew magic in life, it may be able to cast those spells it knew that have verbal or somatic components, but not those with material components.
For the initial duration of the spell, the spirit is charmed by you. Once the initial duration ends, the spirit can choose to remain friendly to you or not based on how you treated it while it was charmed.
