This spell causes your voice to be heard much more clearly from a great distance. For the duration, your voice can be heard loudly and clearly out to a distance of 500 feet (an area of effect equivalent to a 500-foot sphere), even if other noise (such as that of a waterfall or ongoing siege) would otherwise block the sound. Your voice, although amplified, does not sound thunderous or booming as with the thaumaturgy cantrip; the spell would instead cause your voice to be perceived by any listeners as if you were within speaking range of them. Physical barriers such as walls and doors still block or muffle your voice as normal. This spell can't amplify your voice through any thickness of lead, even a thin sheet.
At Higher Levels. If you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level, the distance your voice can be heard loudly and clearly increases to 1,500 feet. If you use a spell slot of 5th level, the distance increases to 1 mile. If you use a spell slot of 7th level, the distance increases to 100 miles. If you use a 9th level spell slot, the distance increases to 1,000 miles, and the duration increases to 24 hours. Using a spell slot of 4th level or higher grants a duration that doesn't require concentration.
