You suffuse a melee weapon you hold with sacred force until the end of your next turn. The weapon sheds dim light in a 5-foot radius and is magical if it isn’t already.

When you cast the spell, you can immediately make one weapon attack with the imbued weapon as part of the same action. Alternatively, you can hurl it to make a ranged weapon attack; for that attack only, the weapon gains thrown (30/60) (if it already has the thrown property, increase its normal and long ranges by 30/60 for this attack). Immediately after the attack, the weapon flies back to your hand. If it can’t return or your hand is full, it lands at your feet. If you hurled the weapon with this spell, the hit counts as a melee weapon attack for the purpose of features and spells that require one.

Until the spell ends, attacks with the imbued weapon deal an extra 1d6 radiant damage. This extra damage increases to 2d6 at 5th level, 3d6 at 11th level, and 4d6 at 17th level.
