You reach an outstretched hand skyward as a glimmering, ethereal banner manifests in your hand. The banner can be wielded as a spear, which you wield as if you are proficient, that inflicts 2d6 radiant damage, or 2d8 if two-handed, and uses your spell attack modifier for attacking.
Additionally, a bonus action can be used to emit a blinding brilliance from the banner's current position. All hostile creatures within 15ft must pass a Constitution save equal to your spell DC or become blinded for until the start of your next turn; however, doing so reduces the spell's remaining duration by half. This special action can only be performed once per cast.
If you drop the weapon or throw it, it remains where it is - billowing majestically. Thereafter, while the spell persists, you can use a bonus action to cause the banner to return your hand.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a 3rd- or 4th-level spell slot, the damage increases to 3d6. When you cast it using a 5th- or 6th-level spell slot, the damage increases to 4d6. When you cast it using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the damage increases to 5d6.
