You point towards the object/construct used in the spell's casting and open a small compartment in it. The compartment releases a 1 inch radius beam of arcane energy, which streches 300 feet in a direction of your choosing, piercing anything it collides with. A creature caught in this spell's area must succeed on a constitution saving throw or take 6d6 piercing damage and be pierced with the beam, or take half as much damage and not be pierced on a success. A object caught in this spell's area is affected by this spell's affect at the dm's discretion, such as wood being much easier to pierce then adamantine. Any creature or object not pierced by the ray blocks it from going further, while a creature or object pierced by the ray does not affect it's advance. A creature or object that succeeded it's saving throw against the ray has disagvantage on it's next constitution saving throw against the ray if it stays in the same position. A creature pierced by the ray can still block the ray if healed by a spell such as cure wounds.

* - (a mechanical object or construct ranging from tiny to large size)
