You have the power to permanently change the form of an object. Touch an object that fits within a 5-foot cube and modify 1 aspect of the object or turn it into a different object of the same material, value, and size. A mundane item affected by this spell will remain mundane afterward, and a magical item affected by this spell will have the same kind of magical properties as before.
A mundane item modified by this spell cannot be targeted by this spell again for 1d6 days.
A magical item modified by this spell cannot be targeted by this spell again for 1d6 weeks.
When modifying the mechanics of an object, only a small change can be made. The extent of change allowed will be up to the DM, but this spell is meant to change already existing objects, not create new matter.
Examples of acceptable changes:
- Changing the type of damage dealt
- Increasing or decreasing the damage die by 1 tier (eg. A d6 can only be changed to either a d4 or a d8)
- Increasing or decreasing the AC of armor by 2
- Increasing or decreasing the range of a weapon by 10 feet
- Changing a +2 weapon into a +3 or a +1 weapon
