With a swipe of your hand you create putrid yellow tendrils of magic to restrain a target within range. This spell only works on a target one size above the caster and smaller. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, it takes 6d12 acid damage and is restrained. On a miss, the target is able to break free of the melting reach of the spell, is not restrained, and only takes half damage.
While restrained the target’s speed is halved, they have disadvantage on any attacks made while restrained. Attacking a target while restrained in this manner deals 1d4 acid damage to the target per attack taken by the target.
As part of this spell while restraining a target, the caster must make a concentration check at the beginning of its turn to maintain the reactionary focus of this spell. As an action the caster can choose to reduce the affected targets speed by 10 more feet or deal an additional 2d12 damage.
