The caster holds a gemstone lens toward a creature or construct that they can see within 30 feet and recites an incantation that captures the creature's image and begins to reveal it's secrets. Target must make an INT saving throw, and on a success is able to quickly prioritize and block access to certain information of it's choice.
The caster rolls 1d6 + INT modifier to determine the number of Data Points that they can spend on different categories to choose what type of information they gain and how much of it. Before any information is revealed the caster must announce how many points will be spent on each category, as well as what order that category's answers are revealed in. For example: the caster chooses to spend 3 points on Known Spells, revealing spells of level 1 or higher in ascending order (alphabetically per level) and the target is a Flameskull. From this, they would learn that the Flameskull knows the spells magic missile, shield, and blur, but the caster doesn't know that it also has mage hand, flaming sphere, and fireball.
For one Data Point each, the categories are: spells known, spells prepared, spell slots, spell slots available (only revealing spells or spell slots equal to or lower than what A.A.A. was cast at for each of these.), actions (excluding the basic shove, grapple, dash, etc.), damage vulnerabilities, damage resistances, damage immunities, condition immunities, senses, languages, abilities (ex: Petrifying Gaze for Basilisks), and Speed (0ft. walking speeds omitted.)
For two Data Points each, the categories are: Spells known, spells prepared, spell slots, and spell slots available (revealing spells or spells slots of higher level than A.A.A. was cast at for each of these), Hit Points (temp HP included and specified), AC, spell save DC, number of legendary resistances, legendary actions, and active effects (such as death ward, suggestion, rage, or see invisibility.)
On a successful INT saving throw, the target is awarded 2d4 + INT modifier Block Points--which negate Data Points 1:1-- and the DM allocates these points secretly before the player announces how they spent theirs. For example, if the aforementioned Flameskull allocated 2 Block Points to its Known Spells against the caster's 3 Data Points, the caster would only have one Data Point for that category only reveal magic missile would have been revealed.
