Arc Lightning

Your hands erupt with tiny sparks. Choose a point within range that you can see. An arc of lightning lurches from your fingertips towards the point and then is redirected by you towards a creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the creature. The point you chose is considered the origin of the attack when determining cover. On a hit, you deal 4d8 lightning damage to the creature.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a slot of 3rd-level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 per slot level above 2nd.
