When casting, choose up to 3 willing individuals within earshot, including yourself. Until you cease concentration and drop the spell, everything you and the chosen individuals say will sound like unintelligible gibberish to any other creatures in earshot. While speaking, any targeted individuals (including yourself) may instead choose to allow anything they say during the duration to be unaffected by this spell, meaning they do not need you to drop concentration of the spell in order to resume conversing with anyone not targeted by this spell, nor would they need you to recast this spell in order to once again converse with the targeted individuals in the secret manner allowed by this spell.
At 5th level, you may choose up to 6 individuals including yourself. At 11th level, up to 9, and at 17th level, up to 12.
