There are many warding spells, but all of them count as one prepared spell. Each ward requires a different material to cast. The wards can be stacked to a certain amount which increases the amount of hits until dispelled rather than the bonus. Wards can be dispelled at anytime by the spellcaster. A maximum of 7 stacks can be cast on any being or object at once. casting at higher levels gives stacks of any ward, even multiple, equal to the spell level +1, levels cannot exceed maximum stacks. For example, casting 3rd level Warding allows the caster to apply 2 stacks of Protection and 1 stack of Resistance. The wards include:
Ward of Protection (small piece of metal, 3 stacks) which give +1 AC and is dispelled after spellcaster is hit.
Ward of Weapon Damage (whetstone, 3 stacks) which give +1 to attack and damage rolls to a specific weapon and is dispelled after the weapon hits any animate being.
Ward of Resistance (small piece of leather, 2 stacks) which gives resistance to a specific type of damage decided by the spellcaster and is dispelled after any hit with that type of damage and stacks can either give a different resistance or an extra hit for the previous one
Ward of Magic Immunity (Crystal worth at least 1,000gp, 1 stack) which gives immunity to any 1 spell that's level does not exceed the spellcaster's max spell slot and is dispelled after a hit of that spell.
Ward of Ownership (Crystal worth at least 5,000gp, 3 stack, object must be owned by or attuned to the spellcaster) which with 1 stack makes the object the ward is casted on only be able to be wielded by the spellcaster and is dispelled by any greater magic dispelling spell. If any creature other than the owner tries to pick up the object they must make a DC 25 strength check. On a success one stack of the ward is dispelled and the creature picks up the object if all stacks are dispelled, on a failure the creature falls back 5 feet and takes 1d6 bludgeoning damage. 2 stacks puts the return enchantment on the object allowing the object to fly to the owner's hand with a command word as a bonus action. 3 stacks allows the object to teleport to the owner's hand with a telepathic command word as a bonus action.
Ward of Communication (Small piece of string, 3 stacks) which gives the spellcaster and any other willing creature with the ward to communicate depending on the amount of stacks, 1 stack allows the participating party to know the location of each other, 2 stacks allows speaking to each other, 3 stacks allows the telepathic sending of pictures and it is dispelled when anyone in the party is rendered unconscious or dies.
