You touch an object which becomes the source of an area of darkness or light in a 30-foot radius. The spell reduces the light level by one step, from bright light to dim light, and from dim light to darkness, or increases the light level by one step. This spell does not stack with other magical effects, and any other magical effect that adjusts darkness or light that is higher level than this spell removes the effect in that area. Nonmagical light sources cannot raise the light level in an area affected by this spell.
