A very unstable spell, using powerful blood, special dirt/stone, magical feathers or even scales may have unintended effects. I.E. the blood of a dragon may grant resistance to its element, feathers from a celestial may bestow golden eyes, or even undead blood may grant vulnerability to radiant damage while removing the need to eat, drink, or sleep, up to the the DM
