This spell creates an undead companion. Choose a complete corpse within range (not dismembered or overly scorched) that had died within the last 24 hours. Your spell traps the target soul withing the body and reanimates the body as it's owner retaining all knowledge and proficiencies, at the DM discretion the creature might forget some information due to the reanimation process with a limit of 20 - character level pieces of information. (the GM has the creature's game statistics).

The states of resurrected minion are decided by the GM with the rule being a minimum of original stats/2 minimum and stats 3*stats/4 maximum this lowering of stats is a consequence of the resurrection process where the creature loses some  of it's power.

On each of your turns, you can use a bonus action to mentally command the creature, there is no limit on the distance you can communicate with your creature, however you stop being able to issue commands if the distance is greater than 200 feet, and only retain the ability to sense it's existence and HP and to issue a recall command to it, if the recall command is issued it will do it's best to return to you while keeping it's life (like taking the disengage action and all other means available to the creatures to preserve it's life).

Every casting of this spell loses control of the previous creature this happens at the start of the ritual and the creatures sole goal becomes to kill the caster at any costs because of the anguish caused by trapping it's soul in it's body, additionally any action to directly harm the creature will also cause the control over the creature to end.

As a result of this being a ritual spell it can only be casted by a pact of the tome warlock with the Book of Ancient Secrets Eldritch Invocations.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell 8th level Mystic Arcanum, you can animate one additional companion.
