You blanket a creature's mind with a forgetful fog, causing it to feel lost and confused. The target must make an Intelligence saving throw, and does so with advantage if you or your companions are fighting it. If it fails the saving throw, it is affected by the spell until it ends or until you or your companions do anything harmful to it.

An affected creature forgets where it is, how it got there, what it was doing and any specific information related to its current location. Depending on the nature of the creature, it may seek help from you or your companions, experience a mild mental breakdown, aggressively lash out in confusion, wander off and explore or do something else. A wild animal, evil creature or something with an innate hatred or fear of you or your companions will likely give little thought to its condition and simply attack. An incorporeal creature or planar entity may vanish or return to it's home plane if it is capeable of doing so. The exact effect varies and is up to the discretion of the DM.

When the spell ends, the target regains their full faculties and any memories they lost. They become aware that their mind was influenced by magic, but they do not necessarily know the nature of said magic or who influenced them, unless they witnessed you casting this spell. The target has disadvantage on any ability checks made to recall information or memories attained while under the influence of this spell.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the duration increases to 30 days.
