Communication (...)

As a ritual, when speaking a command word as you cast the spell, you imbue a mirror with divination magic, making it the main one in the possible network of looking glasses you may create. Looking through a mirror requires the command word and uses an action.

Additionally, you may cast the spell again on any other mirror or objects with reflective surfaces (or divination tools such as scrying water bowls, polished gem the size of a fist, crystal ball, etc...), speaking the command word once more as you do. This newly affected divination tool becomes linked to your main mirror, and the two objects behave like two sides of a window, the exception being that nothing but sounds and images can be seen or heard. Spells, objects and creatures cannot pass through.

Your main mirror can see freely through the other mirrors, but the other ones cannot freely look through yours unless you allow it when casting the spell or if a creature succeeds an Arcana check against your spell save DC or if a creature has Truesight . You may connect multiple mirrors to your main one this way, affecting a number of mirrors equal to your spellcaster modifier + your proficiency bonus.

Using the main mirror, you may make yourself be slightly obscured if you wish to look through one of the secondary mirrors without being detected. A creature can perceive you if they succeed a Perception against your spell save DC or if their Passive Perception is higher than your spell save DC. The creature can also detect you if they have Blindsight at at least 10 feet or with Truesight up to 30 feet from the mirror they are being observed from.

If your other mirrors are easy to carry, you can give them to anyone you wish, allowing them to communicate with you, and you with them. If someone tries to communicate with you through a mirror affected by this spell, you hear a magical sound, like a slown down windchime, that can only be heard by you.

Communication is possible between mirrors in different planes, but there is a 10 percent chance the spell fails, making you unable to contact that mirror until next dawn on the plane where you attempted the communication. When using a spell such as Detect Magic, the mirror reveals a pale blue light swirling slowly through the mirrors details, nooks and crannies.

You may also choose another mirror as the main one, but it must be made of precious metal, gems and stones, casting the spell as a ritual. Your first main mirror looses all magic and is a simple item that retains its gold value.

Lastly, if you attempt to create a new secondary mirror while you reached your limit, you must choose one the secondary mirrors to loose its magic. A spell such as Dispel Magic renders the mirror normal once more. If cast on the main mirror, all secondary mirrors loose their magic, regardless of which planes they are on.

''Why restrict yourself to only sounds, images or twenty-five words? A good diviner can do all three at once, and even more.''
