You attempt to curse a creature with the inability to comprehend language. One creature that you can see within range must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, you render the target unable to understand any language, including spoken language, written language, sign language, gestures attempting to mimic crude language, or even telepathy. The affected creature cannot communicate, use command words, cast spells with verbal components, or use any other abilities that require language.
At the end of each of its turns, the subject can attempt a new saving throw to end the effect.
Comprehend Languages counters and dispels Aphasia, and a creature with the Comprehend Languages spell active is immune to Aphasia.
