The caster take a living insect or worm and points at a creature while saying a magic word. On a successful Dexterity saving throw, the target moves out of the way at the last moment and the tiny creatures conjured will fall harmlessly to the ground. If the target creature fails, several of the same type of worm or insect will appear beneath the target's skin. For the duration of the spell, the creatures will struggle and burrow in the target's flesh, causing 1d12 Piercing damage every round. An alternative way to end this infestation is to cut the insects or worms out, which requires intentionally inflicting 8 points of slashing damage to the target creature.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the duration increases by 1 round for each slot level above 5th.
