When you target a creature with this spell, you instantaneously know what deity they serve, and what domain that deity is of. If they do not serve any deity, they take 1d8 force damage, and this effect repeats until they take a short rest. Once that short rest is finished, you may contact them telepathically to try to assimilate them to your religion.
At higher levels: At 6th, 12th, and 15th levels, the spell does an extra 1d8 of damage.
