You form an orb of bright green acid in your hand and fling it at a target in range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 2d4 acid damage. Hit or miss, the orb explodes, forming a puddle of acid in a 10-foot radius circle on the ground around the target. The target and each creature within 10 feet of it must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d4 acid damage.
The puddle counts as difficult terrain and lasts for 1 minute after the spell is first cast. When a creature moves into or within the puddle's area, it takes 1d4 acid damage for every 5 feet it travels.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the acid damage for the initial hit, the explosion, and the puddle all increase by 1d4 for each slot level above 2nd.
