You target up to 2d10 sentient creatures that you can see with mind-warping magic. The targeted creatures must succeed on an Intelligence or Wisdom saving throw (their choice) or be cursed with crippling hopelessness until either an inspiring event or a creature succeeds on a DC 20 Charisma (Persuasion) check to cure them and dispell the spell.

While cursed by crippling hopelessness, a creature has disadvantage on all Wisdom, Charisma, and Constitution dice rolls and all saving throws, have vulnerability to psychic, necrotic, soul, and wrath damage. And whenever they try to cast a spell, they must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or take 1d6 psychic damage, or twice as much if the fail the save by 8 or less. 

 

At Higher Levels. When this spell is cast using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the amount of sentient creatures it can effect is increased by 1d10 for each spell slot used above 5th.
