The caster touches a creature and cause its blood to flow with extra strength and vitality, but also causes them to bleed profusely. The target must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 15 + the spell's level) at the start of each of their turns for the duration of the spell. On a failure, the target becomes incapacitated due to the pain caused by the bleeding and loses their turn. On a success, the target gains 2d6 temporary hit points, +2 to attack and damage rolls for the duration of the spell. These bonuses stack every time the saving throw is passed.
During the spell, the target has advantage on Strength and Constitution checks and saving throws and disadvantage on Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma checks and saving throws. At the end of the spell's duration, the target loses all temporary hit points and takes 1d6 necrotic damage.
This spell can only be cast on willing creatures or those that are unconscious or incapacitated. It can only be cast once per short rest.
At higher levels:
- 4th level or higher: The temporary hit points gained, and the bonus to attack and damage rolls increase by 1d6 and +1 respectively, for each slot level above 3rd.
- 5th level or higher: The target can make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 15 + the spell's level + the caster their spellcasting ability modifier) at the end of the spell's duration to halve the necrotic damage taken.
