This near mythical spell has only been known to have been cast before in recorded, known history. It is the spell cast by the Arch Druid Theros, that utterly obliterated the infamous Oundarian Empire. In order to cast this spell the character not only has to have all of the components, but go through a cleansing ritual that last a full lunar cycle. at the end of the cleansing ritual the character must secure the blessing/s of deities of nature/creation to unleash this terrible power. The character may be required to go on a quest or perform a specific feat or deed for the god/s. Only upon successful completion of whatever task/s will the character be granted the knowledge and power to cast this horrific spell.
Upon casting this spell, the caster causes an existing mountain or volcano to explosively erupt. If no volcano or mountain exist near the desired location, one is formed by a series of violent and long duration earthquakes. Once the spell is cast and the new volcano is formed, a brief period of quiet ensues for 1-2 days. On the third day EXTREMELY VIOLENT earthquakes (8.5 minimum with a duration of 2-6 minutes) start followed by 1d4 hours of calm. Following the calm, the first volcanic eruptions beginning with a force of VEI 1-4 eruptions, culminating in an apocalyptic VEI 7 (the eruption of Thera). The spell creates all of the effects of Lava Bomb of Theros, Lava Flow of Theros, and Pyroclastic Flow of Theros. The spell effects are greatly multiplied by a factor of 10. The volcano will continue to spew lava, ash, and poison gas for three days. During this time after shocks will continue as determined by the DM. If the eruption takes place near a large body of water, it will trigger tsunamis of catastrophic proportions devastating coats lines and destroying shipping over a thousand miles. The long term effects of this cataclysm will be determined by your DM. However it should be noted that when the Arch Druid Theros cast this spell not only did it utterly annihilate the entire Oundarian Empire, but its effects were felt in virtually corner of the world. Freakish weather phenomenon such as drought, flood, and sharp increases in sever and extreme weather events. Only a Wish spell cast at a level equal or higher than the level of the Druid that cast the Cataclysm can counter it. The Wish spell can only be cast after the first eruption. The DM will adjudicate the wish and the spell and you must beat the Druids DC with a -5 penalty, or disadvantage (DMs choice). The DM must bear in mind that one or more gods of nature/creation have sanctioned the casting of this spell.
