You create a small floating mote of sparks that hovers above you in your space and follows you. As an action, you can have the mote make a ranged spell attack to shoot a small bolt of sparks against a target of your choice within range. On a hit, the bolt deals 1d12 lightning damage and can leap to a second target which must be within 30 feet. A target can be a creature or an object and can be targeted by only one of the bolts. The second target must make a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d12 lightning damage.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d12 for every two slot levels above 1st (ex., 3rd level, 5th level, etc.)
