An object you touch glows brightly, coloured as you like. At maximum brightness, the object sheds bright light in a 30 foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet (the light can be dimmed if the user desires when casting the spell. When casting the spell, the user can choose to make the light change colours or change brightness in a set pattern (for example, oscillating between red or blue, or flickering on and off). How complicated the pattern can be is limited only by the caster’s imagination. When casting the spell, the user may also choose to have the spell end prematurely – the duration of the spell is set by the user. Completely covering the object with something opaque blocks the light.
If you target an object held or worn by a hostile creature, that creature must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw to avoid the spell.
At Higher Levels. When cast using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the radius of bright light and dim light each increase by 10 feet for every slot level above 1st. When cast using a spell slot of 2nd level, the maximum duration increases to 24 hours. When cast using a spell slot of 3rd level, the maximum duration increases to 72 hours. When cast using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the spell has a unlimited maximum duration.
