You ensnare your foe in a thorny rosebush grown from its own blood. Target one creature you can see within 30 feet of you. It must make a Constitution saving throw. If the chosen creature has not taken any damage, or if it does not have blood, it automatically succeeds on this save.
On a failed save, the target suffers 2d8 necrotic damage as the blood leaking from its wounds is twisted into a thorny bramble, and it is restrained for one minute. A creature can use its action to repeat its saving throw against this effect. If it fails this save, the creature takes 2d8 necrotic damage. On a success, the effect ends early.
At Higher Levels. If you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, increase the initial necrotic damage by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st.
