You take 10 points of piercing damage and the blood that seeps from the wound coalesces into a longbow-like shape that looks as if made of ruby. The damage taken by the casting of this spell cannot be reduced or avoided and your maximum hit points are reduced by 5 until you take a short or long rest.
As an action on each of your turns, including the turn you summon it, you may make an attack with this hardened crimson weapon using the longbow stats and taking 2 points of damage to create the ammunition to be fired for each attack. Each attack uses your spellcasting modifier, dealing 1d8 piercing damage and an additional 2d8 necrotic damage. You regain the 2 hit points spent to create the ammunition if the attack hits your target.
At the end of the hour or when you dispel it, the blade darkens, cracks, and crumbles in your grasp, falling into a pile of reddish-brown dust.
When you cast this spell at third level or higher, it deals an additional 1d8 necrotic damage for each spell level above the first.
* - (A dagger, large needle, claw, or fang used to harm yourself.)Spell notes: “When coming up with it I thought back to my childhood and to all the things that I watched the guards train with while I was stuck inside, too weak to go out and try for myself. I practiced the movements for days, training with a friend and infusing the directions into the spell. Finally, towards the end, I combined my unique magical capabilities with some of the same equations used in Transmutation magic. Overall, I’m happy with the way it turned out.”
