You clench you hand into a choking gesture. An invisible force begins to choke one creature you can see within range. To creatures with truesight or some other way to see the invisible, the force resembles a blurry, clawed hand wrapped around the creature's neck.
You must keep one hand free while you maintain concentration on the spell.
When a creature is choking, it can survive for a number of rounds equal to its Constitution modifier (minimum of 1 round). At the start of its next turn, it drops to 0 hit points and is dying, and it can't regain hit points or be stabilized until it can breathe again.
For example, a creature with a Constitution of 14 drops to 0 hit points after 2 rounds.
At higher levels. When you cast this spell with a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you can target one additional creature for every other slot level (for example, at fourth level, you can choke two creatures at once, and at sixth, you can choke three).
