You point your finger at a creature that is currently moving within 30 feet of you. The creature must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or it stops in its tracks. A creature that fails the saving throw can still attack and take other actions, but it is unable to mentally compel itself to move in any direction during its turn. Creatures that can’t be charmed are immune to this effect.

A flying creature stays aloft, provided that it is able to hover or flap its wings in place. If a creature is using a feature that allows it temporary flight on its turn, such as the flight available through the Totem Warrior Barbarian's Totemic Attunement (Eagle) feature, it immediately falls and takes appropriate fall damage. 

If a creature being ridden by another creature is affected by this spell, the rider is launched off the affected creature and lands on the ground at a distance equal to half the affected creature’s movement speed. The rider takes damage equivalent to the amount that would be taken from a fall of that distance, rounded down.
