Damage/Effect

You hold up your fish and say "fish!", and a portal opens above one creature of your choice that you can see within 60ft of you. One or more fish are conjured and appear through this portal. Roll a 1d8 to determine the outcome from the table below:

 

D8 Effect
1 One normal sized fish appear and drops on the target startling them, the target cannot use reactions until the start of their next turn.
2 Two large live fish fall from the portal, the target takes 2d6 bludgeoning damage and must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your spell DC or be knocked prone.
3 A bright red fish falls through the portal, at the end of your turn the fish explodes and each creature within 5ft of the fish must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 3d6 fire damage on a failure or half as much on a success.
4 A large frozen fish falls through the portal, the target must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your spell DC or take 2d6 bludgeoning + 2d6 cold damage.
5 A large starfish falls through the portal and sticks to the target, the target's movement speed is reduced by half until they or another creature spend an action to remove the starfish.
6 A dozen oysters fall through the portal into the target's space, when eaten each oyster restores 1 hp and provides nourishment for 1 day. The oysters spoil within 2 hours of being conjured.
7 One huge fish appears with a gaping mouth that swallows their head. The target is blinded and takes 2d4 piercing damage at the start of each of their turns until they or another creature use an action to remove the fish.
8 200 fish appear and fall on the target. The target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw against your spell DC or be buried in a mound of fish. A buried creature's movement speed is reduced to 0 and they are restrained and have full cover against attacks and spells. They or another creature must succeed on an athletics check against your spell DC to free them.

 Any creature targeted by this spell stinks of fish for the next hour giving them disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you can target one additional creature for each slot level above 1st. The creatures must be within 30 feet of each other when you target them.
