Until the start of your next turn, you have a +5 bonus to AC, including against the triggering attack, and you take no damage from magic missile. You cannot move while holding the barrier,. Otherwise, the spell ends.
Nothing can physically pass through the wall. It is immune to all damage and can't be dispelled by dispel magic. A disintegrate spell destroys the wall instantly, however.
