You focus your transmutational magics upon a target point you can see or that you know the direction and distance of within this spell's range, putting into place the movements of energy to create an immense reaction. You must maintain line of sight on the target area for the entirety of this spell's casting time, losing progress on the spell's casting if you lose line of sight for even one round. Upon completing this spell's casting, you pour your acid and alchemist's fire into the bowl or jar used, the concoction dissipating into energy which instantly transfers to the center of the target area, serving as a final catalyst for the transmutation. Immediately after this, a gout of concentrated acid erupts from the target point, raining the fluid over a 15-foot-radius, 60-foot-high cylinder, causing all creatures within it to make a Dexterity Saving Throw.

Creatures that succeed their Dexterity Saving Throw may move up to 5 feet using any of their movement speeds. All creatures, objects, and structures within the area that fail their saving throw and aren't under cover that grants total cover from rain suffer 4d10 acid damage, while those who succeed their save and cannot move under total cover take half damage. Nonmagical objects smaller than large size are dissolved by this gout, including armor and equipment which would be hit directly. Sheathed objects and objects in containers spill loose from any object they were held within. Creatures under 1/2 or 3/4 cover, such as that granted by an average tree's canopy, take half damage from this if they fail their save, or no damage if they succeed it.

All creatures that fail their dexterity saving throw and all affected objects and structures take 8 additional acid damage at the beginning of each of their turns for this spell's duration, while those that succeed their save but still took damage take half that damage at the beginning of each of their turns for the spell's duration. Submerging one's self or drenching one's self in water, casting prestidigitation, or using any other effect which could clean or wash a creature completely ends the acid damage per turn caused by this spell.

At Higher Levels. When cast using a spell slot of 4th or higher level, increase the initial damage by 1d10 and the damage per turn by 2 for each level above 3rd used. When casting this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, increase the duration of the spell's secondary damage effect by 1 minute and the radius of the cylinder affected by 5 feet for every 2 levels above 3rd that is used.
