This spell isn’t really much of a spell more of a learned ability using the power of arcane will to allow the caster to drain or sap power from a creature that they can touch or grapple. It gives the ability to take a creature's ability such as dragon’s breath or a wizard’s spell resistance and use it as if it was their own for a period of time. When using this spell the caster must touch the creature they want to consume then roll a d4 to see what they gain from the creature. The gained traits last until the next long rest and abilities depending on DM decision can last until next long rest or until used or until spell is used again to gain a different power. Can be used in a fight if the caster lands the melee spell attack.
On a 1 the caster gains: The creature’s movement ability. It can be faster walking speed, flying speed, burrow speed, swim speed. They gain it all until the next long rest.
On a 2 the caster gains: The creature’s senses. Better darkvision ie more range, blindsense, tremorsense, and better passive perception. They gain it all until the next long rest.
On a 3 the caster gains: An ability from the creature such as regeneration, magic resistance, or hold breath. If more than one ability like those are present DM can tell the name of the ability and let the player choose or have them roll for it. The caster can only gain one of these abilities and it last until the next long rest.
On the 4 the caster gains: One of the creature’s Actions. It can be a normal action like bite or claw, a bonus action, a reaction or a legendary action. If more than one of these present the DM can name of the names of the actions and let the player choose based of names or have them roll for it to see what they get. The caster can only have one of these at a time and depending on the action can last until used like a dragon’s breath weapon or until the next long rest if it’s a creature’s bite or claw attack. DM decides. All melee attack actions will be made as a melee spell attack for to hit. Damage/number or dice rolled will be told to the player by the DM.
