You touch a willing or dead humanoid and a alive restrained, incapacitated, or willing humanoid or Warforged. Provided that the humanoid is alive or has been dead no longer than 10 days, the spell transfers the humanoid's soul into the body of the second humanoid or Warforged, who is the host.
The host makes a Charisma saving throw with a DC of 10 plus the usurper’s charisma modifier. If the host is incapacitated, this saving throw is made at disadvantage, and a willing host can choose to fail the saving throw. On a failure, the host dies, and the humanoid's soul enters the host’s body. The former humanoid recalls its former life and experiences. It retains the capabilities it had in its original form, except it exchanges its original race for the host’s and changes its racial traits accordingly.
A host slain in this manner is unable to be brought back to life without a wish or similar magic to remove the humanoid's soul from its new host body.
