As you cast the spell, you paint a 5-foot-diameter ritual circle on the ground inscribed with runes and symbols that stain the environment with a flash of red, blue, and yellow. Any spell that produces magical darkness or an effect that removes/dispells magic will fail for the duration of the spell. In each 120 degree arc outside the circle will be designated either red, blue or yellow. The color will saturate the environment with the designated color turning it into a monochromatic landscape of that color that is impossible, by physical or magical means short of a wish spell, to clean or restore to its original color for the duration of the spell. This arc will continue 500 feet in its direction not being impeded by any physical or magical hinderance short of a wish spell. In addition any creature that is in the range of the spell upon casting will randomly be saturated with one of the previous mentioned colors, independent of the arc's color, and is incapable of cleaning it as mentioned before. Creatures outside that enter the spells effect will be colored in accordance of the arc they have entered. Creatures exiting the spell's zone will not have their color removed unless the duration has finished or it has been dispelled. The zone and creatures that have been dyed will glow with soft light of the same color that has been assigned. The inside of the ritual circle is unaffected by the spell.
Creatures that can see will immediately know what color they have been stained with and can see what areas have been stained with what colors. Blind creatures cannot figure out what color they are or what areas have been colored unless they are told the information by a creature they can understand. Creatures starting their turn occupying a space in one of the arcs that does not correspond with their own assigned color will be dealt 2d12 physic damage. Creatures that are not blind starting their turn in an arc that matches their color must succeed a wisdom saving throw to gauge the depth of the area to their own feet. On a failed save, that creature treats the area inside the corresponding color as difficult terrain. Creatures starting their turn outside of the effects of the spell will be unaffected regardless of color, however they may be looked at strangely by people who are unaware of the spell.
The caster will be effected by the spell if they step outside of the ritual circle. When standing inside the circle and uncolored, the caster may spend their action to instead...
- Rotate the arcs randomly 120 degrees either clockwise or counter clockwise.
- Randomly recolor all creatures inside the area.
The spell will last until the duration has been completed or if the ritual circle has been broken in a specific manner (as described below), it may not be dispelled by normal means. To break the ritual circle there must be a large area erased from the original paint from each arc. To erase a part of the circle must spend an action to either destroy the ground the circle has been painted on or to scrub the paint off using water and a cloth or similar apparatus. Upon erasing a part of the circle, that arcs color saturation will dim and no longer require creatures of the same color to make wisdom saving throws at the start of their turn. Creatures of different colors will only take half damage when starting their turn in the differing arc. If all arcs have a break in the circle then the spell will explode with a blinding flash of color hitting all creatures inside the effect of the spell and inside the circle. All creatures hit will be blinded for 1d8 turns and take 2d6 physic damage. In addition all creatures will be stained in a rainbow fashion for 1d4 days. The land that was effected by the spell will also be stained in the same manner for 1d10 days. The sky within 1 mile of the epicenter of the spell slowly fades into a random one of the following colors for the same duration of the landscape being stained. (Red, Yellow, deep Blue, Green). If the spell persists for the allotted time then the arcs will quickly fade away and remove color from any creature affected.
