You extend your hand towards an object within range that could be grasped in one hand. The object may be worn or carried by a creature, or it can be a small magical item no larger than your hand. Make a Sleight of Hand or Arcana check, your choice. The DC for the check is determined by the DM based on the complexity and nature of the object. On a successful check, the object disappears from its current location and appears in your hand as if you plucked it out of thin air.
The weight of the object must be no more than 10 pounds. If the object is being worn or carried by a creature, the creature may make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC to prevent the object from being taken.
If the object is a magic item, you can attempt to take it even if it is currently attuned to another creature. In this case, the creature attuned to the item must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the object is unattuned and transferred to your hand. On a successful save, the object remains attuned to the creature.
At Higher Levels: The weight limit of the object increases by 10 pounds when you reach 5th level (20 pounds), 11th level (30 pounds), and 17th level (40 pounds).
Please note that the DM has discretion over the difficulty of retrieving certain items, especially if they are important or plot-related. The Aport cantrip provides a versatile means to retrieve small objects, but it still has limitations. Always consult with your Dungeon Master to ensure the spell fits the balance and tone of your game.
